About Greg

Greg Funderburk is a pastoral care minister, a lawyer, and a writer. He’s written for and spoken at over a hundred funerals and memorial services, presenting the essence of people’s lives, comforting their families with words of redemption and hope following loss.

As a lawyer he’s crafted arguments for those in need of a defense following episodes of chaos, error, and disaster. His writing has garnered attention from the Writers’ League of Texas as a finalist in its category for fiction. The Mourning Wave is his first novel.

He lives in Houston with his wife, Kelly. They have two sons, Hank and Charlie.

“Funderburk meets the reader on the page. That’s really the sense. He doesn’t write at the reader so much as communicate, ‘I see where you are,’ or even, ‘This is where we are.’…He is self-aware and draws the attentive reader to his or her own self-awareness.”
